Born in Washington State's Pacific Northwest, Darwin spent the entirety of his childhood drawing landscapes and the rural world around him. After studying the history of art in college he became a lover of all art and has been influenced and inspired by all periods of art and select artists, notably Kandinsky, Miro, Picasso and Matisse.

Traditionally trained in both commercial and fine art disciplines, digital painting and manipulation has been his medium of choice since the late 1990's. The spontaneity and automatism perfectly fits his style, vision and temperament.
