Irma Blank

Resident of the Italian city Milan since 1973, Irma Blank is an artist of German origin who has pursued throughout her entire career the form of nonverbal, asemic (asemantic) writing, especially creating drawings that mimick the layout of existing books or newspapers, or make use of an utopian alphabet.

Despite participating in documenta as early as 1977, the artist has only more recently enjoyed increased visibility. She is currently represented by the P420 gallery from Bologna.
