“Think of love as a state of grace, not the means to anything, but the alpha and omega. An end in itself.” ― Gabriel García Márquez This piece of artwork strives to find the essence of love in the realms of the inner-self and the nature at large, and in turn, conducts soul-searching and traces the essence of life that all beings are to live. Does feeling also have varied shades and layers like all phenomena? Or is it indelible, eternal and monolithic which is experienced in the solitude of the self? Or is it an experience that is lived in the realms of the social? And in the process find my own catharsis. It motivates me to explore the depth of love which helps me in defining myself as a human. However, this painting is an attempt to find that spiritual surface and that in-depth spirituality of the word love, and how it forges that bond which links one person to another and tries to imbue with the eternity of the soul, a life, which steadily loses its flavour as it ebbs and flows. To capture that inner feeling and bring it forth in an external form too, may be deemed as a sort of materiality, and I may not be away from it, perhaps. Principally, this has been the central epistemological question (The perception and depiction of outer and inner space-mind-body-soul equilibrium) in whose response the entire body of work was created in the sphere of Indian classical philosophy and music.
