Self-Portrait

Jacob Mącznik

This strong painting by the École de Paris artist Jacob Macznik was exhibited in 2022 in Paris at the Museum of Art and History of Judaism as part of the exhibition devoted to Hersh Fenster. The painting is serious, dark (but not ominous), and gripping. The use of variation amongst yellow, brown, umber, chestnut, walnut, and russet is impressively successful in engendering the evoked seriousness.

This painting is privately held by the artist's nephew. Denotation of the copyright is embedded within this low resolution image of the painting.
