The work shows the contemporary postmodern world, where people are surrounded by void of lies, phantasms and simulacra. Philosopher Jean Baudrillard uses the term hyperreality to describe reality, calling it just a simulation of the real world. It is the environment where soul is desperate to survive, trying to find truth and stability. The thin strip of light in the work symbolizes this truth and people reach out towards it in order to survive.
Inspired by a true story, Invincible recounts the last 48 hours in the life of Marc-Antoine Bernier, a 14-year-old boy on a desperate quest for freedom.
