In Her Eyes

Charly Palmer

A powerful limited edition giclee by Alabama's Charly Palmer that was featured on the cover of Time Magazine. It is a piece of protest art commissioned to speak on whether America would be able to live up to its promise.

It depicts a young African American girl who is looking at everything occurring during these days and times and processing all of the injustices being perpetrated against people of color and America's role in it.

You can see in her hair a Black Lives Matter protest she has witnessed....she is trying to understand her place in today's society.

The flowers in the piece are a theme utilized by Palmer since his mother's death and represents life, death, beauty, love and joy.
