Jacob Farkas is a Brooklyn-based visual artist whose works are filled with dazzling colors that inspire reflection. Jacob often uses colors, textures, and shapes in his paintings to convey the impression of urban living and architecture. With his process-oriented approach, he combines and layers different media to convey a sense of history and discovery.
Along with urban references, he incorporates other imagery from travels into his work. Today, Jacob loves experimenting with color, texture and various mediums. He mainly works on canvas and wood panel, but he does some works on paper and has even experimented with collage and painting on cardboard.
The first thing Jacob Farkas does is select the palette. He is always inspired by nature, because there is always something from nature that is not wrong, and that somehow gives him inspiration and data. After a while, he becomes caught up in the fluidity of the materials, experimenting with some before and after, and the work itself is what determines the finish.
