Is pain the greatest human drama? or it is perhaps more the trauma that it causes... Above anything else the pain and suffering is something undesirable, but that for our own happiness benefit our brain has been able to counter with mechanisms that help us to overcome it and in some cases may even postpone it. Now the traumatic situations, that footprint under our retina, are not easily forgettable hardly ever and indeed possibly not be able to reach them all never forget.
