SOME SAY IT WAS SUICIDE (PT#1 – “C”) ORIGINAL SOLD – PRINTS AVAILABLE
This is another one that had been on the studio white board for a long time. I have done Nikki a few times in the past and all have found their way into private collections – but this one was different. This one took some time to develop for me because it is part one of a four part mini-series and I had to decide on the direction and composition for all four pieces instead of just the one. The difficult part was to come up with an idea that could be used as a Quadriptych (four panel painting) or as a single piece. The subject matter of course is a no–brainer for me. As I mentioned in the past, Motley is the reason I paint what I paint and in the style I try to do it in. They are single handily the most influential band of my youth. For this reason, every time I embark on a Motley piece it becomes a pilgrimage for my very soul.
Inspired by a true story, Invincible recounts the last 48 hours in the life of Marc-Antoine Bernier, a 14-year-old boy on a desperate quest for freedom.
