SHRIEK THE LIPS ACROSS RAGGED TONGUE ORIGINAL SOLD - PRINTS AVAILABLE
I have wanted to paint a Rob Zombie/White Zombie piece for quite sometime now. Aside from being a die hard fan, Zombie’s dedication to astounding visuals and stage attire make him an extremely enjoyable subject. As fun as these subjects such as Zombie and Manson (to name a few) are, their niche audiences and somewhat scary appearance make it challenging to get art galleries to hang them in prominent locations. For this reason, I have been patiently waiting for a commission opportunity for a Zombie project. Rob’s affliction for campy horror visuals combined with a very gritty feel that I’m sure he picked up at CBGB’s where he got his start, places him directly into my wheelhouse. Having seen Zombie’s mind bending live show, I knew I had to incorporate one of these campy props and/or characters into this piece as well – choosing which was a challenging task.
