Omer Uluc

Ömer Uluç

Ömer Uluç is a contemporary Turkish artist. studied engineering in Istanbul between 1949 and 1953. Uluç later traveled to Texas, Boston and New York, where initially he continued his studies in the field of engineering, shifting later to painting. He opened his first solo show in Boston in 1955. From 1965, until the end of the 1970’s, Uluç worked in many different countries, among them Britain, France, Turkey, the USA and Nigeria. In 1969, he participated to the São Paulo Biennial; his works were later included in many international group shows and art fairs, in addition his solo exhibitions continuing on a regular basis. Between 2000 and 2005, these solo exhibitions were organized by Art of This Century, who represents artists of international fame such as Jeff Koons and Anish Kapoor; Uluç also took place in the gallery’s portfolio during the FIAC displays. Ömer Uluç died in İstanbul in 2010.
