Lusia Ivanova studied at the Dnipro Theater and Art College, whose graduates include Oleg Holosiy, one of the brightest figures in the New wave of Ukrainian art. In 2015, she graduated from the Kyiv National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. Ivanova's painting embodies the eternal dispute about the interdependence of form and content at the core of classical artistic media. Her practice develops along the axis of her own search for balance between storytelling and the autonomous life of pictorial material. Figurative elements and expressive names of her works suggest that we are not just dealing with painting about painting, but also with numerous micro-stories.
